Just tasted and loved Bonny Doon Portfolio of Rhone Rangers. Never saw a dessert wine with legs. Always a fan of bio-dynamic incentives and what it takes.

Randall Grahm may have been one of the first to produce Rhone rangers; definitely the very best! We look forward to his visit to the Columbus market in March.

JC Cellers, "The first date" 2008

In other words, these are delicious, bu we can’t have them…yet!!!

Love all of the JC Cellars wines, but the 2008 First Date is simply put WOW!

We have had previous vintages, but this one tops all.

75% Rousanne, 25% Marsanne-this wine is full-bodied with citrus and marmalade notes.  Doesn’t need food, who eats on a first date, but would be great with spicy Asian foods, scallops, or full-flavored fishes, and chicken.  The label reads “The start of something special, your heart pounds; (love the semi-colon) the spark of new romance.  You never know unless you go on that first date”

Then a primarily Syrah-based red blend, very French and earth-driven. Reviews say this displays the winemaker’s magical touch and we agree.  Dense, very extracted and full-bodied

Again I have to share the back label  “Sometimes the illusion is real.  Sometimes what’s real is an illusion.  Sometimes it’s all just Smoke and Mirrors”

Hence, this is  the 2007 Smoke & Mirrors.  A wine to pair with bistro fare, stinky cheese, or a hearty cassoulet on a second date.

All due to arrive first week February.  Wines get great scores if you need them and range from $31.99 to $61.99

Wine close-outs keep coming-great deals for Super Bowl parties or cellar fillers

Here is what we have-was $35.99 now $9.99 04 Vie di Romans Pinot Grigio.  Heavier for a Pinot Grigio, maybe why we all like it.  Aromatic and great for the price and the vintage, didn’t stock it at the original price.  Not dull and watery, good with scallops, garlic sauces and firm white cheeses.

A Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet  blend from Barossa-2007 Dutschke Willow Bend down from $22.99 to $12.99

A couple of 03 Altare Barolos 110 and 90 down to 55 and  43 respectively.

We will continue to have the Four Vines Zin and Gerard Bertrand Organic Merlot and Chard at $9.99 (all originally $15.99) through the end of the month.

More available, come in and see us-Morse & Cherry Bottom in Gahanna!
